Often, ideas and research results are not yet developed far enough to arouse the interest of industry in concrete cooperation and further development. In order to overcome this hurdle, so-called "technology transfer preliminary projects" can be funded from KIT's NEULAND innovation fund. These preliminary projects, e.g., the construction of a prototype, are intended to increase the technology readiness level (TRL) and thus the market relevance of the technology in question, and to develop concrete exploitation strategies and launch marketing initiatives in cooperation with the Innovation and Relationship Management service unit.
Per project, a funding amount of up to 50,000 EUR can be provided by the KIT Innovation Fund NEULAND, with a maximum funding rate of 70%. This leads to a project volume of 70,000 EUR including the institute's own contribution. This project volume can be increased by a variable additional own contribution.
