Potential for CO2-neutral flight
Traveling by air without emitting additional CO2? Synthetic fuels can make it possible. Researchers at KIT are developing a new manufacturing process as part of the KEROGREEN project that could produce synthetic, CO2-neutral kerosene for air travel in the future. The innovative plasma technology enables the extraction of kerosene from renewable energies, water and CO2 from the atmosphere. The research partners at KIT have already built a first plant, finalized the system integration and thus demonstrated the potential of CO2-neutral aviation for the future.
